Nellis Vineyards was started in 2003 with vine cuttings, guidance and encouragement from a generous friend who was willing to teach and share his winemaking and grape growing knowledge.
In 2005 Nellis Vineyards harvested our first crop, making 16 gallons of wine. Since then, it has been a goal to grow Oklahoma grapes which produces Oklahoma wines from Nellis Vineyards.
We do not work Nellis Vineyards alone, it is the incredible gift of friedships and family who repeatedly show up early, stay late and make themselves available to make the vineyard and winery a success. Thank You once again, this year's harvest came together and we will plan to share our fruits of our labors.
Our 2008 wines in the making include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Riesling,Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat, Zinfandel, Sangiovese, Sharaz and a red blend we call Rainy Day Red.
